Mrs. Austin's second grade class learned about the plight of animals in shelters. They used adjectives to describe adoptable pets and made a rainbow display for the hallway. The children are making blankets to donate to Bide-a-wee and they are writing a brochure to raise awareness. Adopt a pet today!

100th Day Celebration
Today was the 100th day of school (give or take a snow day or two!). Children entered school by walking through the 100th day sign. |
Second graders celebrated by dressing up as if they were 100 years old! |
Here are some more South Street senior citizens. |
We are celebrating 100 days of learning. |

Share the Love
Today, we "shared the love" at South Street school. Students in all classes learned how to write a compliment. Then, the compliments were written on paper hearts, attached to popsicle sticks. The children exchanged hearts with their classmates. What a great PBIS activity!

Disney Day!
Mrs. Jordan's first grade class filled their PBIS incentive chart and earned a Disney Day! Children wore all kinds of Disney paraphernalia, including t-shirts, headbands, and hats. They were greeted with Disney music and participated in Disney-themed academic activities. During snack time, the children watched classic Disney cartoons. I'm sure that Mrs. Jordan wished they could have taken a field trip to Disney World!
