PBIS Awards

We celebrated excellent role model behavior with a PBIS Award ceremony. Congratulations to all the children who met or exceeded expectations on their report card for behaviors related to learning. We are so proud of you!  

Mastery Club -Grade 2

This morning, we celebrated the achievements of the children who participated in the second grade Mastery Club. Thsese students went "above and beyond" the curriculum to research the answers to many questions that were posed to them. Congratulations!

Mastery Club-First Grade

Congratulations to the first grade students who participated in the Mastery Club this year. These students went "above and beyond" to research the answers to questions that were posed to them. The children in this voluntary club demonstrated a commitment to learning that is truly commendable! Parents, teachers and students celebrated this morning with an award ceremony and breakfast. Keep reaching for the stars!

Flag Day Celebration

Our students sang patriotic songs and read essays about the flag in honor of Flag Day. Hooray for the red, white and blue!

Honoring Our Veterans

Thank you to the veterans in our community. They came to see our show "Americans All."

Americans All

The musical "Americans All" was performed by the first grade students in Mrs. Bobal, Mr. Edwards, Ms. Schoelermann and Ms. Herrel's classes. The children researched their own ancestry on the Internet, learned about other cultures, followed directions, read and memorized the script and accompanying songs, and performed in front of an audience. As part of the students' service learning project, the show was dedicated to the veterans in our community and Ms. Patterson's class made gifts for them. Thank you to Mrs. McNeill, our music teacher, for her expertise. The children discovered that our diversity is what makes us special! Bravo!

Our Art Show

Last night we hosted our annual SSS Art Show. Over one hundred families joined us to celebrate our students' talents. Many thanks to Michele Dezago, our art teacher, for a wonderful year of art!

Safer 3

The Long Island Drowning Prevention Task Force presented three assemblies to our students this morning. The Safer 3 puppets, Gilbert Guppy, Timmy Tadpole, and Sammy Starfish taught us how to be safe in and around the water. More information can be found at www.swimforlife.org.
