Adopt a Pet Service Learning Project

Mrs. Austin's second grade class learned about the plight of animals in shelters. They used adjectives to describe adoptable pets and made a rainbow display for the hallway. The children are making blankets to donate to Bide-a-wee and they are writing a brochure to raise awareness. Adopt a pet today!

100th Day Celebration

Today was the 100th day of school (give or take a snow day or two!).
Children entered school by walking through the 100th day sign.

Second graders celebrated by dressing up as if they were 100 years old!

Here are some more South Street senior citizens.

We are celebrating 100 days of learning.

Share the Love

Today, we "shared the love" at South Street school. Students in all classes learned how to write a compliment. Then, the compliments were written on paper hearts, attached to popsicle sticks. The children exchanged hearts with their classmates. What a great PBIS activity!

Disney Day!

Mrs. Jordan's first grade class filled their PBIS incentive chart and earned a Disney Day! Children wore all kinds of Disney paraphernalia, including t-shirts, headbands, and hats. They were greeted with Disney music and participated in Disney-themed academic activities. During snack time, the children watched classic Disney cartoons. I'm sure that Mrs. Jordan wished they could have taken a field trip to Disney World!
