Today, second grade classes participated in a Junior Achievement program.
Junior Achievement is a global not-for-profit organization supported by
businesses, foundations, government and individuals. JA’s purpose is to inspire
and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. This is accomplished
through the dedication of volunteers from businesses and the community, who
volunteer their time to teach the JA programs.
Volunteers from JP Morgan Chase and Suffolk County National Bank
were in all the second grade classrooms teaching our students about “Our Community." The volunteers were trained by JA
staff and this program ties in with our second grade social studies curriculum.
