Newsday's FutureCorp Project

Our kindergarten service learning project was selected to be featured in Newsday's FutureCorp section. Kindergarten students have been learning about families and the community. They learned that some families do not live in homes and have to spend time in shelters. They read books about homelessness and they will be writing letters/cards to the children who live in shelters. When they learned that some children do not own books, they decided to conduct a book drive. Over 700 books have been collected!
